Valentine Keepsake

I created this accordian-style album for both myself and husband to have as a keepsake.  I have one on my desk at work :)  The pages are 5-1/2" x 12", scored at 5-1/2" and 11".  The remaining 1" is used as a 'tab' to adhere the next 2-page piece to it.  I used a Stampin'Up! Simply Scrappin Kit.  These kits come with 12x12 solid paper, 12x12 patterned paper and adhesive accent (like stickers).  The nice thing about the kit is everything coordinates.  I added other accessories like ribbons, buttons, etc.

SWE Speaker Gifts

I am sponsoring Speaker Gifts at the upcoming SWE (Society of Women Engineers) Region D Conference in Knoxville, TN.  I created 3 cards, added 3 envelopes and tied it together with a piece of ribbon.  Very simple but very cute!  AND very practical usage for anyone!  I think they are SWEet!

Decorating the Den

Here are a few projects we did in the den.  We sort of ended up with a black and white theme and added a nice blue on the walls.  Above the black leather couch with 2 accent pillows are 3 decorative wall hangings I made myself (well until it came time to use the staple gun).  I used 1"x2" pieces of wood to create the frame (the middle one has a middle support), used a white sheet to 'shade' the light a bit so you couldn't see thru then added the material I picked out at JoAnn's and stapled that around the back.  I used picture hooks to hang them up!

As for the photo collage.  I bought the frames on sale at Michael's; it is a kit and I got the idea from Candace Olsen on Divine Design.  I was able to get the frames when they were half off and with an additional 10% off coupon so watch for good sales!  Oh, and you can also purchase a wall template that helps you place each frame in the correct place!

Learning Our ABC's

Here is our project in the playroom.  I got a full sheet of 3/4" plywood from Home Depot and had them cut it to 9-1/4" squares.  I primed and painted the squares in white.  I then applied the Nursery Alphabet Decor Elements to each square.  I stenciled a small circle in pencil in the middle about 1" down from the top on each square so my husband could drill a hole in the same spot on each square.  Then we used a 2-1/2" 'decorative looking' nail and hung them on the wall.  The nail sticks out about an 1" on each one, wasn't planning on it but it gave it a nice touch!  The pictures below show my wall template I used to hang all the pieces evenly, as well as the finished product!

Announcement! We are Having Twins!

I was so excited to be able to create this trifold baby announcement for our twins!  In total the project is 3.5" x 10.5" and scored every 3.5" to make the folds.  I used Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow papers, along with some scrapbooking paper.  I also used a 1-1/4" square punch, the Word Window Large punch, and the 3-way punch for the arrows.

NOTE:  Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow and the 3-way Punch are no longer available :(

Sean and Bridget were born September 22, 2009 at 35 weeks.  We spent 10 days in the NICU.  Today they are 17 months old and doing great!
